the real version is ...
... not here!
It's actually at
http://randomartsf.wordpress.com, and I'm sorry to say, it hasn't been updated since I created it. Things sound like a good idea when you start it, and then ... time management becomes an issue.
I'm getting back to it. I swear.
frozen tourists. (submitted by Caroline)
Caroline writes in from San Francisco, CA ..."Okay, so I realize this isn't something in San Francisco ... it's actually in New York City, I believe nearby Central Park. I couldn't find a photo of my weird SF thing (actually, just forgot to scan it since it's a b&w photo I developed old school with chemicals and stuff), but this is as weird as it gets. And in this section, I would basically just talk about where this is, why I think it's cool and weird, the story of how I found it, etc. I would also have a link that appears like
Read more... just in case someone submits a novel about what they found. It's possible."
[this is what it'll appear like]The only thing I did not get a chance to build was the Google Map area I wanted ... not yet. I actually discovered something else I want to do, which is GeoTagging, which you can do with Google Maps. I sat at my computer for a couple of hours trying to figure it out on my own, but my sister actually showed me this site called
Zooomr, which isn't something I thought of, but maybe kinda-sorta wanted to do but didn't know it.
Check out mine to see what it does. I was hoping that clicking on the photo or the link that says "Read more..." would lead to a separate blog page, which it does. But figuring out how to incorporate it is the hard part.
As for the bottom below, where it says "comments" and such, I figure I'll have links like maybe "add to del.icio.us" or something like that. Links, links, and links.
The sidebar ... maybe I'll put the rules in there. I'll take out the "about me," but only if I decide to use blogger in the end. I'll also have links to the touristy stuff, RSS feed, a submission link, and whatever else I can think of.
